Kind of curious what everyone does at times when they need to cut back corals or just want to get rid of certain corals?

I get selling them or giving them away is the obvious answer but for the folks that are a bit busy and don’t have time to have people coming and going to buy / pickup corals what do you do? Just take them to the LFS?

Kind of feel bad when I have some that I’ve cut and just want them gone and price them so low to just make them move quickly. Don’t want to short people and underprice the market on people who do this for actual income.

Take them to the place you shop at and get store credit. Thats what I do sometimes.

I guess I need to find a new LFS. I usually go to Ali's store, and he doesn't take nothing. LOL.

Which LFS is giving you guys credit for corals?

Thanks everyone. Figured the LFS probably would make the most sense.

Am I wrong in thinking it may not be right to post for low prices here or to give away cuts for free? Just wondering the general consensus on this with people who try to sell here for what normal market prices are.

Would rather give back to the community instead of a LFS but don’t want to short change anyone.

Not often I have items but when I do I always feel a bit odd posting them for sale and I post them low so they move quickly to make it easy.

Post at what ever price you want. Your LFS will only give you 25% of what they will sell it for. That's why I sell my rainbow anemones for only $30. That is a little less than the LFS will give me for them, but they sell them for $120. I expect them to make a profit, but that is crazy. I try to support my LFS but prefer to help other hobbiest!

they are your corals and you can do whatever you want. I’m an exporter, and trust me, none of the ppl at any level really care outside of their bottom lines. They would all gladly take your corals for free and resell for 10x (a common factor things are raised to). Mike Grun use to sell lots of stuff cheap, and it would go fast and be would have space to grow again. He didn’t need the money, and just enjoyed the hobby.

if you can find a decent ifs you like who will be reasonable with you and the clients, try it. I suggest hitting up law office. He’s a very fair dude. He would even possibly trade with you.

I am in a similar situation and don’t have time for buyers. I usually drop them at my LFS for a pittance but they are gone and out of my tank, which is small, and real estate is tight.
