i agree...but again....BT is not tippmann....and i've never had problems with the TM7

Speedball guns are lighter, faster, more consistant, easier to maintain, and more accurate.

They just dont look like military weapons, they are for competitive players and serious players, not casuals.

the pm6 will DEMOLISH any tippman/mech marker. And its a 5 yr old electric gun.

A Tippman shoots about 1/10 as fast, weighs 5x more, chops more balls because lack of eyes/electronic trigger which leads to less accuracy unless you like to clean out your barrel every 5 minutes in the middle of a game.

Comparing a Mech gun with an electric gun is like comparing a moped to a motorcycle. Some people like the mopeds, some people like the faster/adrenaline filled motorcycle. Both will get the job done, just in different style.

As someone who used to spend every weekend at SC Village on the speedball fields, and played in competition level paintball, there is no comparison on which is better at all really.

Questions for you: Sleek/small or Bulky and "gun-looking"

Mechanical guns are popular among scenario players, though they are slower/worse but they like them cause they look like real guns.

Mechanical guns are usually built for people who... like to thrash on their guns.
Electric markers are better in every way, but are usually more "fragile" tho that isnt the best word to describe them.
Basically you dont buy an electric gun to thrash it.

Mechanical guns are usually built to survive being dragged through the mud, run over by your truck, and thrown across a room.

If you don't care about speed/weight. get a mech. gun
If you like to feel like GI Joe when you go paintballing, get a mech gun.

If you want a competitive gun: get an electric gun like PM, DM, Ego, etc...

There is no such thing as a paintball gun with longer range.

Common misconceptions:
Longer barrels = more range and more accuracy.
TOTALLY FALSE.
Max length of a barrel is 14 inch, anything after that is actually a waste of time. Anything after this actually hurts you more than helps you, so dont listen to anyone who tells you "longer barrel = better accurazy or better range"
No guns shoot farther than other guns because paintball guns are all limited to a certain PSI. There is no such thing as long range or short range guns.

The most accurate guns on the market actually are pump markers, which i doubt you would like, as most casual players dont like learning to play with a pump as its an ENTIRELY different experience then spraying 10-30 balls a second.

Accuracy comes down to ball size and barrel size.
Get a barrel and paint combo that fits perfectly together = your accuracy.

Also keeping your barrel clean = more accuracy.
Keeping your barrel clean means getting less broken paint.
This comes down to your loader/trigger/paint/air.

Compressed air = better consistancy = more accuracy.
CO2= cheaper and lasts longer on a single fill.

Dont let anyone trick you with "this gun shoots farther" or "this gun is more accurate, just look at the barrel."

not to start an argument but some things are contradictory.
for example for anyone getting into paintball, dont get anything co2. it is NOT cheaper than compressed air and its not good for your paint or gun. The tanks are relatively equal in price depending on size and cubic inch. but field refills at MOST parks, not all, are 10$ all day compressed air and $5/per co2 refill. not very cheap ayy? also co2 wont last longer than compressed air because co2 guns are the low end guns and they SUCK air and are not efficent at all.

Also about barrels. paint and barrel size matching is important to accuracy also. But length DOES infact help with accuracy but like you said, only up to 14". I promise you will see a difference bettween a 10" barrel and a 14" barrel. And when a paintball breaks on the field your balls will stop shooting straight after that untill you squeegy it and get out the paint oil, becuase the broken paint oils the barrel and your balls will shoot in circles, thats why everyman on our team carrys a squeegy on the field or else your basically useless if a ball is chopped.

Co2 definately lasts longer than CO2.

If you play with a compressed air tank, you will get 1-2 games before your fill.

If you are looking for a gun id suggest a Proto SLR or Proto rail.
They are great bang for your buck guns, and are WAY easier to maintain then something like a Mini or Ion.

I hate Ions. They are worth about 75$ after you use it once, they cost 200 retail, and it costs another 50-100 to get them to an enjoyable state (purely my opinion).
Not to mention it is a PAIN IN THE *** to maintain an ion.

The Rail/Slr have a WAY easier cleaning due to their bolt system.

You can also find older DM/PM's which are all great for a beginner.

Check out pbnation.com if you really get into paintball.
If you play with 20oz Co2 tank, your fill will last a full day for the most part.

Co2 is worse for the gun, but when you shoot a slow mech gun, its not as bad as using it in an electro which shoots way faster, doing more damage due to more shots.

I mentioned that Co2 lasts longer on a single fill because sometimes people go play with their friends in the woods in the middle of nowhere, and not at a field.

when my friends would do this, I couldnt take my electric setup because i ran compressed air and would need to refill between each game, and wouldnt have a refill station, so it was literally impossible to bring my gun and use it for more than a single game.

co2 will get you more shots off of a single tank. it is worse for your gun.

and you echoe'ed what i said about barrel length. so IDK who you are arguing with.

well just with what you said about length doesnt effect accuracy like everyone raves about. anyways i guess in the end people will experience the hobby themselves and have their own opinions. Mine is compressed air all day, because unlike you my fields have a tank supply for me after the game. Because all i worry about is getting through the single speedball match becuase i air up after each match in the tournament, unlike woods/scenario which would take longer.

I only use compressed air.

And every speedball field I have ever been to has fill stations.

I feel like you arent understanding me.

As someone who used to compete in speedball tournaments, I know my ****. And i am sure agree with you on everything you said.

You just keep misunderstanding what I am trying to say.

If you are an avid paintballer, get compressed air.

If you like competing ONLY get compressed air.

If you have a high end gun ONLY use compressed air.

If you use a slow mech gun and like to play outside of actual Paintball fields, like with your friends in the hills, then Co2 is a better option because their fills last longer.

I also am used to filling my tank between every game.

I used an PM6, and a 08 White Ego, both in competitive play.

I know what im talking about lol.

I just have friends who would go out into fields in the hills and go play and I would have to use my pump, as its the only gun I had that didnt need compressed air fills between games.
(had a blue/black phantom and a 2k4 prostock pump to fool around with)

I used to spend every weekend at SC Village, Jungle Island, or Splat factory.

LOL! I think Bubba just wants to 'win' an argument.
i gotta agree with st loot, get a comp air tank. Every field refills them for a one time fee. The cost of HPA tanks now are so cheap that its crazy to buy CO2.
If you're going to play paintball, get comp air.
If you're going to play paintball in the woods, get a SCUBA tank and a fill station.

And I do believe that the best marker you can start with is a pump. At least get a pump as your second marker. It teaches you trigger control, pop shooting, accuracy, and so much more. If you can keep up with the semi guys with a stock class pump, imagine what you can do with an electro! Thats just me going old school though, I'm more than willing to sell any of my electros, but will never get rid of my mini phantom collection.

I do think playing witha pump will make you a way better player. Tho imo most newer players and most casual players do not want to play with pumps because less spraying and praying.
