If I had to guess- black cowrie. Not quite reef safe but very sought after for FOWLR aquariums. Costs $37 on live aquaria. If not that, Black Sea slug??

I don't think it's a cowrie since it doesn't have a shell. Maybe a black sea slug?

It crawls. I haven't noticed my soft corals being affected. This critter has been in my tank for a while now. Always been curious if it's bad or good but I haven't noticed any negative impact to my soft corals.

It's a black variety of fleshy limpet. Omnivore that will mostly feed on algae & small pods but can get a taste for corals is it gets hungry. I have one. No issues yet.

If it's a polyclad worm then it will kill your other snails. Have you been seeing dead snails?

Yeah I see empty snail shells but I assume that's normal attrition. From what I read, polyclad flatworms also eat clams. I have two clams that are doing fine so I don't think it's a polyclad.

Reef safe"ish"...until they're not. It's like when someone asks me if my pet (dog, bird,snake...) will bite. It certainly CAN but in the right circumstances and based on past experiences it is highly unlikely. Just remember it's there if anything looks wrong. It's probably been in there for a long time and this is the 1st time you saw it. I don't see mine often and when I do it's usually early or late.
