I actually just gave them both vinegar baths but broke a clip while removing the vent, does not affect the pump in anyway but I used epoxy to seal for safety (when coralline encrusts it you wouldn't be able to tell), the cap can still be removed but you'd have to re-epoxy it.
STRUCTURALLY the pump and controller work flawlessly
