Mine still alive but have not done anything except encrust some more at the base. Might have to go Dr. Kevorkian on this thing if it doesn't do anything my end of competition. Taking up primo real estate for other sticks that actually wants to take off.

First day

more expensive though.. :p
.
Hopefully, some aquacultured corals can be used at the next event. Maricultured colonies don't last very long.
It would be nice to have an aquacultured piece but that means for someone to chop up a nice established colony. Most LFS don't have established colonies but have easy access to large maricultured colonies. It could be done but like Jeff said the price would be higher.

there's a certain level of "pay to play" too.

i think at the super cheap cost of entry on this one, we had a lot of people who basically just fell through on their commitments to follow up with photos, updates, etc.

i think if the cost of entry is more like 20-30 bucks (just throwing numbers out, i have no idea), it would weed out some of the people, and maybe allow for aquacultured pieces.

yes to a certain degree. initially people only picked up their piece if it was convenient as it was not a must have piece. Then some killed it and did not let it be known. If we got a small colony of say, pink lemonade, people would show up to pick theirs up as it would be a piece they want. the level of posting updates will always be the same as things happen in general. As it gets closer to the end ill post an interest thread.
