Well the pump can pump in one direction "forward" and then it can spin in the reverse direction "reverse".

For me, I'm still a little confused because I don't know which was the pump is supposed to face. Once installed you have to twist the heads so that it faces the correct way.

This is what took me the longest to set up because you have to play with it so that it can face the way you want it without creating too much surface agitation or too much flow downward.
Omg your one of those guys. Smart as hell but now common sense.
Gyre 101
Install the gyre in such a way the maxspect on the center is facing up and readable

Now the top smaller vents are the flow vents and the bottom larger vents r intake.

O yea I didn't even need a manual to tell me that. Dam Prius idiots.

What mode are you guys running at? I just set up alternating gyre 2 minutes.

And I noticed that anything after 30% makes noise, BUT coralvue says there's a break in period.

Yea exact same thing I'm doing. Alternating every two minutes.

who is baller enough to:
1. put 1 gyre on the side of the tank plus 1-2 on the back of the tank & alternate flow from side-side vs front-back
2. let gyre flow meet at 90' angles
3.ditch all other power heads
Interested in reading this same thing, as that's what I'm planning to do in my upcoming 90" build.

FWIW, I talked with the CoralVue rep at MACNA and he said they'd run great in that configuration.

Hahaha no tree hugger here. Just a prius soon to be with a train horn.
Dude a train horn is like 4 times the size of Prius. Your going to have to tow the horn around on a trailer.
His is what I imagine what it looks like

Nice! Let's see how it runs long term and if the noise will still be an issue after the break in period.

Bummer but I did read quite a few beta testers had their pumps quite down after a few weeks. I don't think a pump should have a break in period though lol
Everything motorized has a break in period. Just like a new truck or car that you are not supposed to pull heavy amounts of weight around till after 500 miles.
