Contemplating a return to the hobby. Going to do it in a small way with a nano tank. I realize this time I do not hafe the time for a larger tank so I will be going with easy softies. To start looking for a RODI unit. Previously I had the spectrapure 90GPD and loved it. Just saw a sponser post the Aquatic life unit. Does anyone have any thoughts on which way to go? or another option?

I think with the Aquaticlife Buddy unit, you're stuck with buying their filters which will give you limited choices.

I have the Aquatic life Ro Buddie... I have been pretty happy with it... I did do a couple upgrades when I set it up.

I added the following:
Pressure gauge before the membrane
Dual TDs meter(one coming out of membrane and one after the di)
A Flush valve.

I've had it a year and replaced the filters once(should be due again to change)

About 5 months ago I ditched the Di canister that came with it and added a dual canister Di...

It worked great... But now I'm looking to upgrade to something else because since I had it I've upgraded tanks. When I had just my 75 gal it was perfect.

Now I have a 120, a 40, and a frag tank and I'm making my salt now... So I'm going thru more water than before...

I'm looking at the Vertek Rodi unit with booster pump as a replacement.

PS...

Good to hear your thinking of making a comeback!!!
