Hey guys I've been using the Coral Pro Salt mix for the past month and a half and my corals have been loving it. The problem I've been having is the mixing part of it. I always get a cloudy batch of saltwater, it's not too bad but still it isn't crystal clear, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm letting it mix too much or not enough. Have any of you ran into this problem before, if so any advice? Thanks in advance.

Let it mix longer. It'll clear up.
FYI, I used to use Red Sea Pro, but had Alk probs eventually. Ended up burning some SPS. Be careful and keep an eye on your Alk.
Wet back to Reef Crystals. No more Alk probs.

Do you add the salt to the water or water to the salt?

Do you add all the salt at once?

Red Sea Coral Pro is designed to have an ALK around 11-12. Had a rather steady climb while I was using it until I got to the "burn stage". If you keep an eye, and aren't dosing ALK, you could be okay. I use a doser, and I think that contributed to the problem.
As far as mixing, I do a 55 gallon water change on my tank and creap up on the desired salinity. I would let the water mix for about 45 mins to an hour after hitting the desired salinity before doing the change...
I know there are others here who let it mix for a full day before doing a WC.

I use coral pro and mix for an hour test salinity adjust if needed, mix another 30min, test and change ( I'll add 30 min each time I have to adjust for salinity ). My water is always crystal clear. I have a very strong pump to mix as well not sure if that matters

What kind of pump do you use? I believe mines a Rio 2500.

I tried a couple buckets of the pro and the alk was super high at 12. One strange thing, I use 2 trash cans to mix and one trash can mixed cloudy with the other didn't. I don't know why, the salinity was the same in both. I ended up dumping the one that was not clear since I was unsure why.

Corals look happy, but I don't like the high alk so I'll be switching. Maybe go back to D&D

My tank and my cousins 150g tank crash from this. Went back to tropic marin but it's too costly at the moment. Might give reef crystals a shot.

Read/follow the instructions.
I think everyone blew over this advice (above) as if it didn't exist.

Aquarium Salt is all too often the easy scapegoat to bad or lazy husbandry skills.

The quality controls on this company far exceed the standards we have here in the states.

I can asure you that Redsea does NOT produce bad salt, ever.
