I think the ones that fail the most in eheim are the 125w and the 175 I believe. I had one fail in me but that's why you shouldn't have a heater without a controller

Mine was the 150w versions.. They didn't fail by staying stuck on the highest temp., but by not turning on so my water was like 68 degrees!

gotta watch those eheim heaters too.. I bought 2 recently and both fail within 6 months... I'm trying to get mine replaced through warranty.
how did you put in the water Rash ? Hope you didn't submerge all the way in (even okay to do that but the manufacturer is not recommend) . I had mine for long time, back 2008 till now in my 190 gallon with controller.
Even through Eheim is good brand but the built in thermosat is not good. I used to turn them in high temp so they can turn on all the time, and use controller for it.

agreed on controller, most of the heater in the same type doesnt have good temp controller.

I have a ViaAqua titanium 300w in my sump and another 100w that's usually heating water in a Brute. Both have served me well.
