LOL... the whole "blacklisting" thing...??? well, after mingling with most vendors, it turns out he did it to other vendors... most got the booth, but i can imagine most didn't... oh well...

i dunno man... i counted like 4 empty booths and one hobbyist table that didn't show up... if i was putting on a show, i'd be kissing arse to fill up them booths... amirite...? why strong arm them if all you have to do is be polite and fill up the place... but instead, he demands all of this cash and a deadline that no one wants to deal with it....

whatever.. he can say it was a troll, and even if he is saying the truth.. it did affect the show... but like i said... there were a lot of things that were missing... the details that make vendors not want to come back... oh well... it was bad... especially today... although, corals were sold, attendance wasn't there... i feel bad for the vendors that got like 20x20 booths and well, don't really sell anything... they are there to promote... and if only 800 or so people come in instead of 4k+... it's not a real good investment for them...
Completely agree. Turnout seemed pretty small. Nice meeting you today though.

Thanks for the fun time guys. We had fun hanging out with everyone and getting some cool pieces.

On a bad note though, we bought two porites from Age of Aquariums and left them in our cooler overnight. As we were driving home on Sunday I noticed that I didn't recall seeing them still in our cooler when I out all of the other corals back. Got home after a 6 hour drive only to find that they weren't there at all. We'd hate to think it, but we believe that a vendor took those pieces from our booth. We leave our stuff out in the open with the trust that we all take care of each other. But this happening is just... Just breaks the vendor code. If anyone sees two big chunks of a porites that looks like a Darth Maul porites but with a green/ yellow polyps, just know that it might be from our cooler. It is what it is, and we can't really do much about it now. But just sucks when this kind of stuff happens.

That's a pretty bold accusation. I'd definitely try to clear it up first before accusing

You're 100% right, I do apologize for jumping the gun. Got home after midnight and guess we just though worst case scenario.

It was just we could have sworn we placed them in our cooler, even 2x checked with each other and recalled seeing it in there.

Got word that someone may have found them for us, and hopefully it was all just us being goofs and just being tired and having bad memory. Out of everything we brought, we had no idea why they would take a brownish-burgendy porites over everything else we had.

oh man, that sucks... pretty sure it ruins the whole weekend for you guys...

and you're right... there is a vendor's code, and even the people that go to the show... people are scared to look into the tanks if no one is there to watch them... this gets me heated up/mad... yesterday someone hid phill's bag of corals under the table at the SCRK booth... he got all fired up (lol) and i felt bad... i wanted to go flip some tables over... LOL... but then we saw that it was a prank...

hopefully, it gets seen, and someone gets some teeth punched in for it... i hate thieves... a fagg0t *ss thief called me out on some negative rep on saturday... i felt like punching his teeth in and holding his head under his own frag tank... but i promised kevin i wouldn't get into a fight again at his show... and i keep my promises...

oh... i didn't catch this... LOL... i was all mad a while ago...

hey, hope you find them and see you at the LARS swap... i'll send you details as they develop...

and hey, i would've blamed a vendor too... they get there hours before the public, and then leave hours after the public... on friday, they had all of the doors open all late... it was freezing in there... we left like at 9.30pm or later... we had some high end dry goods, and didn't want to leave them in a building with all of the doors locked... at RAP, they clear the rows and lock the doors when they say so... supposedly friday they were going to do that at 7pm, but then moved it to 8pm... but nope... some random *ss people were walking in asking about some midnight club run trying to buy tickets... at 9pm...!!!!! anyone could've walked in and done something bad to any random booth...

that's so stupid... can't believe how poorly planned this thing was... whatever, it's over... sh!t is giving me heart burn... lol....

You could have gotten in a fight and then just said it was just a ruse/publicity stunt and you were playing the villain. :)

Yup... We found them. I feel so dumb accusing some vendor of stealing. It's just that two of us at LC recalled the exact same story, so for two stories to be the same would make us think... Anyways, there was a whole bunch of trading we did and we're getting old... Im sure that those who know us would know that we'd try to think of all different scenarios before resorting to think that someone would do us wrong. I'm glad to have found the corals not because we want them badly, but because it means the code is still strong. Huge apologies guys... Feel like an idiot.

How about providing some retribution to make up for making an accusation prematurely? Doesn't have to be big. Something small.

Could be good for your brand.

Chance would have had it coming. Couldn't believe it. Said their new name would be Rising Phoenix corals because they are rising from the ashes.

Is this why the show as so slow?
This thread may have contributed to that but, I would say the actions and the posts from the promoter is what really sunk it. If I were a vendor I would be looking to get some compensation back from the promoter, because he pretty much torpedoed the show ahead of time, all the while blaming a vendor and telling perspective attendees to "stay at home".

"at least you aren't using your wife's username chance"... because she was giving other members negative rep when they would post in that cat out of the bag thread... and he comes up claiming i gave him ****... well... if he was yezzy reef, then yeah... i did give you negative rep... he can eat a bucket of fat slimey unwashed penis's... i should've talked **** back, but i wouldn't want to make both of them ladies cry in their booth...

that's the part that confuses me.

if this is your business, i would think that image is everything. if i was running it, i wouldn't care how ridiculous someone ELSE is being, my primary focus would be to present my business as above the fray, and do whatever i can (within reason) to keep everyone happy - regardless if you're going to attend or not.

it's not like Kevin's got a monopoly on shows and can afford to be black listing people left and right, and telling people to not come to the show.

like i said, confusing.. maybe Kevin's got a different business model..

The guys made the best out of the situation! As Matt said most vendors are hobbyists first. I saw lots of beer flowing, rubber bands flying, lots of trading, and lots of laughs (I think this is why most of us do it). Gumbii is right though. I felt bad for the vendors that had the bigger booths ZERO ROI!!!

fellas get ready for #larsfragswap2016!

Is it true that water was only free during a "strict" 90ish minute window on Friday, and after that was $1/gallon the rest of the weekend? I heard it from a couple vendors but still having a hard time believing it.

That is very disappointing. I doubt Kevin will offer any type of compensation. I wouldn't ask anyways, if I don't like something I just move on. I'm thinking Max won't even happen next year, since no one came around asking any vendor to secure their booth for next year. Perhaps everyone will be staying home next year.
