So I've been contemplating on making changes in my sump, so I'm looking to get ideas and other peeps that are new to the hobby can also get ideas for new set ups or whatever. Tank is running good, but I'm just looking to get ideas and maybe try something new. Example, currently have middle chamber full of chaeto, I've been thinking about removing some and adding mud or sand. Another example is placement of equipment such as reactors, skimmer, where is the best placement for them, etc.

Yes, temporarily.... When I down sized from my 120 my Cadlights Pls-150 didn't fit in new sump.

I plan on picking up an Aquamaxx ConeS Co-1 soon...
But I'd rather spend my money on coral... Lol

If it aint broke don't fix it.

But seriously, the mud is a waste of time. Sand won't do anything for ya unless its a deep sand bed. Do you have a nitrate or phosphate problem?

I can give you some red dragon's tongue algae if you want to try something else besides Chaeto.

I been battling hair algae due to low magnesium & all, bringing them back up slowly and want to dial them in before I set up my Doser. I was mainly curious to how everyone has their sump set up, looking to get ideas for improvement. I'm sure my sump can use some tweaking

Picked this sump up from a fellow reefer. I wanted the AA cube sump but didn't want to spend that much. The sump comes from the overflow and is split into two different part. One goes through a 4 inch sock and to the skimmer area. That's where I have my heaters, probes, and pump for my reactors. The other part is the refugium area where I have my greens growing. I also have mud in a Tupperware container. Using the Tupperware makes it so much easier to get it in and out.
