reefers still swear by that one.
I am looking for a CaRx Regulator recommendation. Anyone? Are the Aquarium Plants ones still pretty good? I don't need it atm but I will at some point. The tank will start out with the GHL Doser 2.

If anyone has a new one they didn't end up using I'd be interested. I've got equipment to trade or cash.

You should build one. there's a good thread on RC about building your own. Part of me wants to switch to a CaRx just to build a regulator.

I've seen builds go north of $300 using all SS Swagelok fittings and they look pretty badass.

I can answer that cuz I ordered the same box. Each drain is 1.5" and the box is set up for bean animal with one full siphon, 2nd durso style, and 3rd emergency drain. Cody is gonna spend a grip on plumbing with 2 of those bad boys
They are set up for a Bean Animal drain. Something like this-

so you'll have 2 main drains? Would you "Y" it into 1 drain? I think tuning Bean Animal with 2 drains into the sump is PITA
What is the logic of having a durso stand in a herbie/beam animal setup? I have plumbed many tanks with just a herbie system, often time i don't even use a stand pipe on the main.

just more silent failsafes. I guess you tune it so that the durso does intentionally get some water as well as the full siphon. If any benefit, the only thing I see is that tuning might not have to be as precise. But, I'm only guessing as no one has this setup tested yet. Personally I bought it because I didn't want an oflow taking up floor space in the tank

I have both as well although my apex is the classic. Kinda worried that all future products will only be compatible with the new apex and make the old one obsolete. But I don't have full trust on the cerebra's reliability yet. I think it'll get there as long as they have enough customers to continue to invest in their product. I think I might set up both and split it for redundancy. You can do that too. one return a swirl or two, 1 heater, and mp40w. That way if one or the other crashes at least you will have enough flow and some heat to keep some stability. Min
I don't know... I have an Apex and a Cerebra. I've got a while to decide that.

Here is an another example how they are plumbed. Post 20. Its supposed to be a lot more quiet, but I've never run a Bean Animal before.

yeah, you can do it a little different. How i see it, you can go without the (2) main durso pipe and leave the emergency at the bottom weir level. Your sump look like it can handle the excess the water level in the overflow. You can leave the outside plumbing the same as how he had it. However, since you have (2) overflow. You can merge 2 of the main drain (from each overflow) to a bigger pipe with a gate valve. This will be your main/dialing valve. You can do the same to the other with the exception that this will be your dedicated full siphon. But man 3" valves and piping are pricey and hard to work with.

That's how I plan to do it. The main and secondary will be tied together. Everything is 1.5". According to Synergy I don't need to upsize anything.

The 1.5" will flow plenty of water even being fed by 2 sources.

They aren't hooked up so I can't really comment on that. But they are supposedly stronger than its predecessor so I'd assume so? Its not like these are under pressure anyway. They did recommend supporting the drain pipe vertical runs to prevent any leaks or potential problems.

I did win a Shadow Overflow at RAP, after I bought these. So if you want one, Id sell the extra I have for $140... which was the intro price. I believe they are 200 now.
thanks for the offer but I bought one at RAP. Just waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully when my better half is out of the house. lol

My Tank Build
Following closely Cody since me and you have the same dimensions. I know a little premature but have you thought about your fish list yet?

Nothing specific, but I've always wanted a larger tank with a nice shoal of anthias. So lots of anthias, wrasses, and tangs.

Remind me what you lit your tank with?
