As mentioned: I added a plywood back, as well as a plywood top, and a pair of diagonal braces to each side. Today I added some angle brackets to all corners just for peace of mind.
That should be enough? If not, I’ll just throw it out and buy 8020

Moved, sold my old tank (36x30x20). I would’ve rather kept a 30 deep, but the wall picked out didn’t accommodate a deeper tank. So c’est la vie.

I already mentioned it to the landlord, and the response I got was that its your home. Youre free make yourself comfortable. They didnt forbid the aquarium.
My intention was to place it in a corner, and not really in the center of a wall.

Generally speaking, what is the biggest size tank you would place onto a second floor apartment/condo?
I'm moving to a new two story townhouse, but it's a second floor unit. Would you feel comfortable with a reef tank that was <100gallons? Or should it be even less than that?
not to derail the thread, but if she's moving into your place, why do you have to sell the tank? (I know she's your fiance, so no disrespect, but that just seems a bit callous of her)
But in all seriousness, a scratch is much more irritating. A scratched tank is due to my mistake. But a scratched car means someone else either used your car for leverage and/or just doesn't care for other people's property.
