The two outside bulbs has its own ballast which is probably bad. I believe it use the Advance ballast which runs about $65 new. Its rare but the switch itself sometimes goes bad as well. If u ever plan to head down to OC lmk... I'd be interested in trading for it since i already have a spare...

Err yea the sedra 5000 doesn't push 5000gph, not even close. 5000gph would blow the collection cup off of that skimmer in 2 seconds.. I recommend sticking with the sedra for many reasons... Trust me I've owned over a dozen G3
