Overdue update! Got all my ATI bulbs installed. My current bulb set up is... Front: UV Super actinic Blue+ (dawn/dusk) Coral+ Blue+ (dawn/dusk) Coral+ Blue+ According to ATI's website, I'm running a 12k-16k combo (with the super actinic in place of a Purple+). Eventually I'll swap out the UV...

    DIY Stand Build, 40B

Thanks. Yeah I'm done with the build. I left it unstained, as I like the natural look. All I did was put on 3 coats clear sealant. Heres a few pics of what it looks like now.

    *Par38 bulb for sale*

Ecoxotic Par38, 20k. Made with 3w Cree LED's, 3 blue and 2 white. It only has about 1000 hours on it, so there's plenty of life left. $100 shipped I'll include a basic screw in socket w/6ft cord, and a digital two plug timer. Pics to show color:

Thanks guys. Reefkeeper should be here any day. Looking at setting up an ATO, and eventually upgrading the stock bulbs to ATI's.

Ok, made a little progress on the tank today. The rock in my Brute can was done cycling last week. So today I moved it over to the 40, added some sand, and filled her up. I'm not 100% about the scape, but here's what I've got so far... I also placed an order for a Reefkeeper Light...

I got the tank in its final spot. All plumbing is complete, leak tests are done, and it's pretty much ready to fill. I have about 40-45 lbs of rock cycling in a Brute Rubbermaid can, for 2 weeks now. I've been testing the water, and its sky high around 3.0 ppm ammonia. No Trites. Trates are at...

New Aquaticlife 6x39 fixture, I picked up while at RAP. A deal I couldn't pass up! Eventually going to pull the 10k bulb, and upgrade them ATI bulbs, with more blue. Thanks Dan, Jason, JW, Brian, and everyone else at Age of Aquariums for the great deals (and the biggest booth)!

There's no check valves in the plumbing, the sump is able to handle the back siphon if the power is turned off. There's 3 ball valves, if for some reason I need to cut flow to something.

Filled the 40 with water, to test the plumbing for leaks. Everything was flawless, except for some tiny amount of wetness around the overflow bulkhead. Just needs to be tightened with some channel locks, as I only hand tightened it. Seems to be lots of flow, though this may change when I tie in...

Mocked up the plumbing a little. What do you guys think? The 45 down, will go to the chiller, then back up to the left side return. The plan is to keep it simple. Will there be significant head loss with the Tee turned on it's side like this, and/or too much flow screaming out of the right side...

Thanks, Justin. Checked the silicone when I got home today, and everything came out perfect! I'll water test it tomorrow evening, to see how it flows.
