I'm an auxillary for the City of Downey. Most volunteer jobs around here want you to have a gone through a Basic Fire Academy.

That's sweet. Which department do you volunteer for? I applied to a couple of volunteer programs in the past....however, I just seemed to get overlooked in the process. I too work as an EMT and can't wait to get the full time FF job going.

I'm an EMT-B right now, I'm working as a volunteer FF and focusing on my Firefighter 1 cert. Hopefully I can go to paramedic school one day if I save up enough money.
