I've gone bare bottom and it makes keeping the tank cleaner much easier. The bottom of my tank is also now 75% encrusted with coralline algae and looks pretty cool. I'm hoping it will become 100% coverage in the next year or so.

Never knew fairy wrasses were cocoon sleepers. My only two setbacks about fairy wrasses is they are pricey and they seem to be jumpers. I'll be shopping around and if I can find a pair for a decent price they may do the trick.
