I say leave it. One, who knows if the BTA will stay and two they look like they would be fine even as they grow depending on flow pattern.

I think it would be fairly inexpensive to build as well and pretty much bolt together. My style of DIY lol.

Looks like a good start. Scape looks great, like the open design but still tons of room for coral.

80/20 extruded aluminum would allow you to build a H gram to mount all the bars from. Then you could use two suspension cables from the ceiling. Would look really clean.

Good to know, I have had my eye on them for a while. The mouthing option them and angles you can get with the deflector I think will work great for what I need. But bouncing between that and a gyre. Not really sure, flow has been tough to "master" for me.
