Not that strange that they would live for years without color. Try killing them. It's not that easy. I've pulled live rock out of bins that have no light, just circulation and those things are thriving. Some white, some brown.

Sounds fine to me. I don't think I would even worry about waiting to add the fish and/or corals as long as the parameters are close. Just acclimate them as if you purchased them new.

Just leave it in there Russ. I'll get it when I buy your sump!
