See I did that with a 5g nano, I did 1 gallon weekly and I ended up getting dyno. How did you prevent that from happening? I didn’t have a skimmer on that system either. We’re you dosing nitrates and feeding a ton? Mardukumz

The skimmer takes out all the nitrates, so I pushed it up a little where the bubbles don’t easily reach the skim cap, I try to feed throughout the day a generous amount. I use live food and nls. Do weekly water changes raise the other parameters like alk and calc? How much of a water change...
