go lowball an angler for me..

angler is my first choice too, but theyre hard to get to eat.. :( sea horse / pipefish would be cool, but it kinda defeats some of the purpose of having the refugium - breeding grown for pods. those would clean them out.. >_<

everyone's offering chaeto, but no one has suggestions for sump livestock?.. >_< i ordered up some mangroove seeds. it's more for looks than actual nutrient export. gonna grow them in the sump til it's big enough to put in the DT.

it's covered with GHA so you can't see anything anyways.. >_> j/k, but it's pretty plain, almost a FOWLR right now, no sticks, just a few zoas and nem.. :(

so, like 8 months after the 180g has been "running", i finally got around to getting the refugium section of the sump wet this weekend. tossed in the clump of chaeto that's been sitting in the overflow. i wanna put something in there, but not sure what. suggestions? oh, and anyone in or...

awww.. breaking down the tank? :( you got any chaeto sitting in the sump? i need some variety for mine.. :P

let it soak for a couple hours if you're not in a hurry, it's easier than scrubbing, and scrubbing's not necessary. the bleach killing the bacteria does not require scrubbing to work. only reason to scrub is if the tank itself is dirty. how long to wait? until it's dry.. :P

Set the tank out to dry thoroughly and the bleach will break down to harmless salt. just don't leave the tank out in direct sun or strong source of heat which would screw up the tank.
