Just in case it matters my salinity is 1.020. PH is probably around 8.3. Ammonia is between 0 and .25. Nitrite is 0 and nitrate is between 0 and 5.0. So if im not mistaken that all looks fine...

I had a guy build me a custom cabinet and hood for my 300 gallon tank. Just wondering whats going to be the nest way to protect the wood? Itll be stained a dark brown. Should i use a marine varnish similar to what is used on wood boats? Or would polyurethane work better? Any advice is...
