I would do this. There are a lot of immune system boosters and food with medication infusions that can help your fish get through various problems. I've have more fish die by treating them in a QT or with whole tank medication than I would like to admit.

Just depends how much time you want to put into it and how much you want to spend. The Katherine's I got from SS was 45 and it ate pellets the first day. Chaoti are cool but expensive and harder to get to eat.
