It actually wasn't too bad. It was the same price as a IM Fusion 30L, which I really liked and would have probably ended up with if this build was more. Of course you'll have to factor in the cost of a return pump and media baskets but I think the increase in width makes up for it.

Every single day I have to upright or pick my frags off the sand bed cause the mf just bulldoze his way through everything. I've already lost a few frags cause they were knocked down and landed face down in the sand. I'm really close to pulling it out and just stomping on his a$$.

Probably a long shot but can't hurt to try. Looking for a 36" 250w mh with t5 in either 2x39 or 4x39. MH must be double edge. With or without ballast is fine. TIA

With many electronics if you flashed it with the wrong firmware you pretty much just bricked it. That's what I thought I did with my rkl. My dumbass flashed it with the RD1 firmware. Plugged it in after and it says wrong firmware. Tried forcing the RKL firmware but it says firmware does not...

Picked up a used marineland pump I plan on using for the return pump but just noticed last night there's two exposed metal screws on both sides. Can I just cover them up with aquarium safe silicon so they won't rust out?

If getting from a lfs and you minimize the time out of water you should be fine. If you're getting them shipped then expect some die off that will cause a short mini cycle.

I picked up a RKL from another member but forgot to check to see if it came with the usb SID. Looks like this is a pretty old one cause the firmware is still 1.03 and the current one is 2.06 and the SID it came with uses a serial port. Haven't seen a serial port on a PC for a few years now. lol...
