I believe they are 460nm, and IMO they work great as actinics. It depends on the size of the tank and what other lights are used of course, but I use 3 of them linked together on my hex along with a 175w MH and love 'em. Here's my review...

thanks guys, David, the RDSB is still experimental IMO. It's been running about 6 months now with no issues. I had read some great reviews of guys doing the 5g bucket RDSB and thought why not do it in the fuge. I have yet to test anything but 0 nitrates on this system, but have no idea if...

Sorry to hear about your experience. It's the nature of the hobby and the boards, though. I have this same experience on multiple boards (and not even just reefing). My suggestion is to use the feedback portion of the site for reef related transactions and think the FCFS or cash up front...

well to my knowledge, zoas don't NEED to be fed. But mine do eat all the time, they catch whatever falls on them and close right up to eat the stuff. I'd say it's a clever marketing phrase for the LFS to sell product, but wouldn't doubt that zoas would eat the stuff. I love Reef Nutrition...

I think this is a great thread and has been quite civil so far. These kinds of issues need to be talked about as there are so many varied opinions. Of course the free/paid argument will probably exist 'til the end of time much like the halide vs. t5 or mix vs NSW arguments. Some great ideas...

Love 'em. Change mine 2x weekly and can't believe how much gunk is in there. And the skimmer is pulling what it always does. I'd rather that stuff come out in my sock than just cycle around in my tank :)
