What did you do to your tank today?

Moved my firefish from quarantine to the reef tank! First fish in! woot! Ok, maybe overly excited but it sure is good to see something swimming around in there :)

    I thought it was a duncan >.>

Ya google returned precious few hits on 'green horn coral' but I did find hydnophora on one of them. It's white half way up it's base now, so it might be a loss anyway. While I think the elegance is pretty, it definately wasn't something I planned on, so if someone is interested and has some...

    I thought it was a duncan >.>

Well, ya, I did figure out what it was. I was only asking what to do with it, how to care for it properly... and what the other coral was. I know it's not a duncan.

    I thought it was a duncan >.>

So, long story short, I bought something I thought was a duncan. It was seriously withdrawn in the pic I was sent, and it might have been grouped with some duncans. But anyway, I got it home and into the acclimation bucket and started to realize it in fact was not a duncan. Most of you will look...

Guess who SCRK is getting to speak at the next meeting at Age of Aquariums!!??!!

haha! Still no guarantee I'll know you if I see you >.> Yes, he ALWAYS wins tons of raffle prizes. I know his secret, but I don't have the dough to implement it myself. lol He got two big skimmers (big to me) and one of those reef ready cube things.. with filtration in the back panel and...

    The first of many reefs

Well, you could always spend time splitting them with a knife for him, but it might be easier to find smaller ones. I've only got one fish atm, so standing there splitting 1-2 pellets a day is no biggie. I might get tired of it if there were a bunch of them to do it for, or if others were...

Guess who SCRK is getting to speak at the next meeting at Age of Aquariums!!??!!

I did indeed get it signed ;) I didn't realize I was sitting next to someone I knew though haha! It was a good talk, and the after questions were great too! I especially loved when he talked about Ich. As I said on another thread, if I see some of you again that I've already met and I don't...

    The first of many reefs

I know it's no where near as cool as your leopard wrasse eating pellets, but I got really excited when my firefish ate his first one. I have to break them in half with my fingernail though, or he just spits them out and leaves them.

First time reef build -75g w/45g sump

Yes! I can't wait to see the firefish peeking at me from under a rock. lol He hides most of the time in quarantine anyway. I think it's because I'm not down there all the time. He was a lot less shy when I bought him. He peeks out when he thinks I might feed him, and comes out to check things...

First time reef build -75g w/45g sump

Got the rest of my sand washed today and in the tank. I was going to take pictures of it in the tank (silly me) but of course none of you want to see a tank full of milk. Anywho, here's some stuff I found in my sand. One of these things doesn't belong in it, can you find it? We'll come back...

MadMax, do you think you might repost that first post on SCAPE? I think a lot of people would be interested to see the facts.

    Reef Cleaners Group Buy

From day to day, their inventory changes as they sell out and receive new things. If you give them a few days they might have them, but then not something else! Right now they have a nice selection of macros too, but almost the whole time I've been looking at them, nothing hardly in the macro...

    Reef Cleaners Group Buy

I agree, driving down to bellflower from where I am would cost me almost the same as the shipping on my own would. And I get good gas mileage.
