As 5.56 said, devices which draw a very small amount of power need to be plugged into DC8 outlets #4 or #8. A K1 only draws 3.5 watts max, so definitely fits in this category.

Gylcerin/glycerol is an alcohol, and 100% water-soluble. Considering that it's used in cosmetics, foods, soaps, etc, I'd say a good rinsing with hot water would be ample cleaning.
