Something for glass tank bottom - not egg crate

Starboard is found on Plastic websites and many use on the bottom and can be found in white or Black. WWC uses it on the bottom of all their tanks.

    Let's talk ATOs

Tunze 3155 is my favorite and if you keep the module out from under the tank it will last much longer. I have found that corrosion on the power is what fails first on these although I have lost a few of the Tunze pumps over time. I now use the Tunze 3155 with a relay that Tunze offers to power...

    High Ca and Mg

I agree let it come down on its own, keep your alk stable. If you lower your alk from 7 to 9 you will see CA go up, also check your salinity as high salinity will make everything higher.

    Feeling frustrated

What you are describing can be signs of Velvet, are your fish more sensitive to light? Most animals have some of these pests living on them, but a new stress factor or aggression can set it off. This can be the end of everything in a Reef Tank, but in a Fish only you can medicate. I am not the...

    Clown doesn't host anemone

As stated above clowns usually find a spot or host something else that makes them happy, here is where at night switch out that coral for a nem and you can usually nudge them to host. I had a pair that hosted a Hammer and this worked very well.

Let's talk about rtn and stn of sps...

SPS the million dollar question I still wonder why they go? I can say once they start to go pull the whole thing out as it seems to slow down the spread to other corals and I as well add Carbon. I am still scratching my head, but my P04 is a touch higher than I like so adding a little too much...

Sundays people going to Church and the FoosBall make the show less crowded, but the best deals on coral always late in the day!

    pH fluctuations

If you start with Dry Rock algae blooms are the norm and are part of a normal cycle until your tank becomes more established and mature. A good clean up crew will help. Your PH is fine.

    Reef-A-Palooza CA- October 6th & 7th 2018- Anaheim Marriott

I am ready for a great weekend and will be looking for some nice SPS or interesting coral. I am pulling out a large Space Invader Colony and a Soccer Ball sized colony of Duncans to make some new space in my tank this weekend. I also am considering getting rid of a Show Sized Australian Crown...

    Gold Flake Angel

Mine was great for a year and then my Monti collection started to get beat up, then random SPS colony. You could not keep most LPS in tank. I have a Joc now who is starting to mouth millies too much and I will probably have to get rid of him.

Temperature went up to 89.6 Fahrenheit

Bring it down slowly and Good Luck! This is why I run a heater with built in Thermostat as a redundancy.

    MACNA- Vegas

I bought a new Geo Roller Sump for my 90, thing is sweet! It has the Clarisea 5000 system custom built into the sump. I bought some Benepets Reef food to test out, and got skunked in the raffle! Kind of Skunked that is!

    220 Gallons Delivered today 72x30x24

Don't leave it outside in the sun or summer heat or you will here a pop then you will be scratching your head why your tank is broke! The black pulls in heat quickly expanding the black glass quicker than the clear glass and bye bye tank. This is a big warning to everyone who is moving a tank...

Adding too many corals too fast

Patience is a factor in this hobby that will save you money. It takes time to see how corals will thrive or decline in a tank and I would recommend a less is more approach until you are all the way in the Thrive side of the meter. Also learn to dip and trust no one, one pest can really cost in...

    Hottest trending SPS

The ones that don't die are the hottest in my tank! I will say that there are some very nice pictures in this thread, when you buy one of these frags it is no guarantee it will remotely resemble the picture in your tank? Light, Flow, and Tank parameters effect these corals differently and I have...
