Is that my problem? Is that why my nitrate and phosphate won't come down no matter what I try? When I set up my tank a couple years ago, I used rock and sand from established tanks, combined with some (maybe 20%) new rock, AND I have a DSB in my sump... Hmmm... That would explain a lot.

I have a 20 long and a 29 gallon, plus a stand that will fit either. I also have a 24" MH/T5 setup that I ran over the 20 for a couple of years with great results. I could do your choice of those two tanks, stand, and lights in trade.

Puffers are great. I've got a saddleback toby I wouldn't trade for anything. You're always taking a risk putting one in a reef tank. They may be a great addition, or they may feel the need to nibble on everything. My toby felt the need to sample my clam's mantle when I first added it to my reef...
