I had a trick for cichlids that worked pretty good. You swap out the mean fish to another tank (your QT) for a week or two. Then you put the "fish" (in your case the yellow tang) back in the display tank with the purple, the purple by then will be more settled and the yellow will be the new...
No, you don't need tempered glass.
Check out SCA, they have some very affordable starphire tanks. They will give you a discount if you go to their warehouse in Montclair to pick up the tank.

I believe it's 3.5 cuft for the washer and 7.0 cuft for the dryer.
I got a guy that's sounds solid on buying them, he just wants to see them first. I'll get back to you if he flakes.

I've had these for the past few years. They have worked flawlessly, zero problems. The dryer is gas. They will be available on 3/19. $400 firm. I may be open to trades for reef gear of comparable value.
Right, I'm not seeing streamers on this one. It looks big enough that if it was a male that the streamers would be there already. OP, how big is the fish?
I might be thinking of a different tank, but I'm pretty sure this got sold, had a bad seam, and was repaired at AA. Does that sound familiar to anyone else?
Tell us more about the tank, size, age, what's in it. Also I would second the suggestion that you read up on carbon dosing. A lot of people just do it to be doing it and don't know why they are doing it or if they even need to.
