Dang. Sorry to hear man. I've been using the aquamaxx and it's pretty good. No complains. Didn't see a picture of your co2 regulator. Which one are you using?
I bought of one on Amazon. I still need to refill my co2 tank (any place recommended Vu?)

+1 on the aquamaxx. Solitude just did a review on it.

Thank you for helping me order the aquamaxx.

That center brace looks annoying to do maintenance
Not at all. I don't have a good habit cleaning the sump. All the maintenance is only just take out the skimmer cup and clean it.

Dang I missed this thread update.

Looks like your off to a great start, great equipment choices and plumbing. I like your cord management too, much better job than I did :)

I have a geo reactor, a 618 if your interested, suitable for up to 300 gallons. Let me know!

I am using the bigger model for my tank and its worked great.

That skimmer is right in front of the center bar

I just swap out tank at airgas or praxair when empty. They have a lot of locations so I'm sure there is one closer to where you are.

Yeah where is refugium going? What's your plan for it? I'd like to know to. I don't want to run out of cheato supply coming from you. Lol

Your aquascape is a work of art. But where are you going to put the refugium?

I'm finding a way to add a refugium.

V, forgot to ask about the chiller. What's your plan?
I hope fans can cool down this tank since the living room is not that hot. But if not, I will move the inside chiller out and use room AC to cool the 45 gallons.
Or, I will just buy another chiller. Thanks to Smite, he did an awesome job on the plumbing, the return manifold has an outlet for chiller if needed.

Find a way to add the refugium into my sump.
Cut the normal acrylic tank into half.

Fit perfectly:

Add eggcrate and plastic matt for evenly support.

With the xr15 radion, this can even be a frag tank! ???

The feed source gonna be the T split from main drain.

Question: what will be the best method for a silent, safe drain for this refugium? Please help me!

I would be concerned with the weight on that sump. That sump doesn't look like it's much more than 1/2" acrylic. If it was 3/4" or 1", that would be a different story.

Also that radion looks like it's gunna be real close to the top of the tank, might not get the best spread.

Huhm, you're right. The sump only 1/2" thick. I will need to put more pvc to support the weight. But it's not too much, the refugium is only 5gallons or less.
I more worry about the heat of that radion rather than the spread. Cheato doesn't need much light, as long as it doesn't completely dark, chaeto will grow just fine.

Honesty I would look into running reefbrites or something is a strip of leds. That way it will have more spread.

Or go with a 2 bulb T5 retrofit, and you can run those led bulbs. That way it won't add much heat, and it will give great spread. If it was me, that's what I would go with.

OR ditch the fuge idea all together and run a chaeto reactor. Like the ARID

Or you could setup a frag tank next to the display and make a display fuge

That's gonna be following the trend. I want something new, something catching the eyes when looking at my sump!

The refugium gonna stay there. I just need to figure what will be the best options for light, reinforcement, drain,...
