SO i have been a member of this website for a while just never really posted or used it much. I was also in washington for three years. Here is my new build that I am working on.

The tank

My stand is all steel made out of 2" box tubing. Still have to add gussets to the corners for my doors which will be held on by magnets.

And last but not least the first of the five doors I need to build.

I also have my skimmer already. Haven't heard of many people using one but I did see it in a fish store and it seemed to be pretty quite and all the reviews I read on it were good. Its a C-skim 1800.

I am going to be using a 100g tank as my sump so I can have everything enclosed under the tank. I hate having to wheel a trash can into my living room to do a water change. Hopefully the person I am getting the tank from will actually call me shortly and I will have my sump. Just have to add baffels to devide the tank into the sections I want.

Well I plan on using a mag 12 or mag 18 for a return pump.

BRS media reactor.

I want to divide my sump into four sections.
-one section for water flowing from my display where the skimmer will be.
-one section will have my return pump and a float valve as a ATO.
-one section for a 20 or 30 gallon fuge.
-and one section to have a 20 or 30g mixing tank for water changes which will have another float valve to fill it so all i have to do is pour salt in and have it mix.

I have always dosed using two part and just dosing daily as i admire my tank.

Oh yeah I also am going to go with an 800w heater.

Right now I have a Reef keeper lite.

I plan on building a DIY LED system with about 120 3 watt LED's. It is going to be made of the same 2" box tubing I used for the stand and 1 1/2" aluminum channel for the heat sinks. Not completly decided on what LED's I will use exactly but I am thinking of 48 white, 48 royal blue and 24 UV to really make the colors come out.

I want to keep it pretty simple. Hard to do with a reef tank i suppose.

Welcome aboard not so new guy...lol...Nice start...a decent size tank...

I have a 180g too..I originally had a reeflo dart then switched to a snapper, I would choose that over a mag any day.

so i got the tank I am going to use as a sump. It is just your normal 80g tank. I will be installing my baffels and all later this week. I will also have to be drilling some holes. Hopefully I can find a pump for cheap. Heck i am still not even done with my stand but oh well any step forward is just that, a set towards having water in the tank.

Thats it I am going to put you on the ignore list then nobody will buy your pumps.

I was at work and board out of my mind. I guess to say it was a mind numbing experiance.

80g sump! rockon

Here is my sump, or should I say what will be my sump. 80g tank. Now I just need to figure out exactly how to build my diffrent chambers kind of like my enitial design i started with. obviously my original design was going to go under the first tank I had which was much taller. I still want to have everything built into it so i can do water changing without wheeling my wifes arch nemisis into the living room. So I am aiming for a thirty gallon water change section, 20 gallon fuge 20 gallon section for my skimmer and filter socks and lastly a 10 gallon where i will have ATO with a float valve and my return. I think I may be running an external pump but not sure.

My buddy (SHERRERB) told me that fuges are suposed to drain from the bottom is this true. Not that I dont trust him or anything just curious. I know its not hard to make that happen it just takes one extra baffle. Other then that one question I think I got this under control. Any questions or sugestions would be helpfull.
