Oh man that's rough, I hope your livestock makes it through. You don't happen to have a battery backup or generator?

Perhaps you could reach out to your LFS, see if they have a hospital tank? Or perhaps a fellow reefer could help hold your livestock (or lend generator) for the time being? tough times out here...

Oh no I'm sorry. it was only about 30h without power down here. Fingers crossed they're just in a funk and pull through for you.

My yellow leather seems cranky but on the mend, you got the first frag whenever it drops one.

I've been up in Tahoe since Tuesday, shit is crazy down here. Started to see the smoke around the Burbank area.

I would go buy a gas generator ASAP if your talking days.

About 2-3 weeks ago I lost power for 8 hrs and had some SPS died. I had my battery backup but only supplied the tank with 2 hrs to the return pump. I have then switched it to the MP 40's outlet and now get at least 7-8 hrs backup.

I hope everything turns out ok for you. I can make a few inexpensive recommendations that I have used to help get my tanks through some power outages. Firstly gas exchange is more improtant than temperature drop.

I use one of these

JBJ Air Pump https://a.co/d/0r6QpYp

I keep them charged and plugged in with the air stones in the tank when the power company warns of outages. If the power to the outlet is shut off the air pump comes on.

^^^^^
EDIT: I just realized that I mis-spoke. I just figured out while testing my JBJ pump. That while it will run on battery power it will not turn itself on automatically. :EDIT

The other things I have are these.

Driew USB Fountain Pump https://a.co/d/aN3zs7h

Useekoo Aquarium Air Pump https://a.co/d/6U086oY

These can be plugged into a portable power supply such as the ones used for recharging cell phones. They also make adapters for milwuakee/dewalt power tool batteries that can be used to power USB devices. I Always have charged power tool batteries around so these come in handy.

I hope everything works out for you and your tank and hopefully we all can prepare better for future outages as they seem like they are going to become far more the norm here than they have been in the past.

Hope things go ok. Pumps and summer are the only important things. Corals can go without light fit weeks
and heat...LOL
I think woodland hills and that entire Topanga Canyon area is gonna be hit hard tonight....the winds are picking up and I just received a evac warning for that area......Good Luck folks!

I was out of town for a couple days, and I didn't expect to see LA pretty much on fire. It looked just like Lahaina on the news.

Please stay safe. It sucks, but the corals can be replaced. Once this fire is put out and everything back in order, I'm sure you can find many of the corals again. I can give you some corals for free. I have loose blue florida ricordia and orange/green mushrooms if you need to restart. Right now, just get to a safe spot.

Power was only out for 2 hours for me, so I have battery backup, so that saved my ass as I was not even home for this week. Other parts of my city had power off since Tues, and won't be turned back on until tomorrow Friday.
