I used E.S.V. but switched to the bulk reef supply brand when E.S.V. wasn’t available in gallon quantities during the pandemic. I’ve been happy with both.

It depend on what you have in you tank. If you have a SPS dominant tank than I would dose ‘X’ ml the tank consume in one day throughout the entire day. Getting a automatic dosing would be ideally.

Amount is specific to your tank's demand.

If your uptake isn't large yet. You can test, make notes of ALK/CAL/MAG and SG. Don't dose for 3 days. Test the big 3 and SG (specific gravity to ensure that's not throwing off your numbers). Subtract the last test results from the first to find your uptake, divide by 3 for your daily consumption. Reference you 2 part bottle for ml amount for your uptake per water volume.

Honestly I prefer to just test more and make a educated guess on the starting point. I'll test a few times day then adjust as needed and continue that until the tank is stable. I keep sps so I test alk every few days onces locked in.

My bad, I misread your post.

I'd dose in the AM. I feel like I've read some people find there is virtually no uptake at night with all the new alk monitoring systems out now. With a small amount it wont matter much but I'd still dose in the beginning-mid photoperiod as that's when its going to be used. As your demand grows break it up into a few doses a day during the photoperiod if possible.

I had been doing ESV but switched to BRS 2 part with Tropic Marin balling method as well as using A and K. ESV was starting to get a hold of and cost so that’s why I switched.

Just my experience. I have a nano tank so this outcome may be due to the small size of the tank. Dosed ESV for about 6 months but noticed my salinity creeped up too much for my liking. I've since gone with a kalk stirrer and any additional alk/cal is brought up to level with Tropic Marin AFO. Really liking this setup. The Ph boost is also a nice bonus.

I didn't realize the alk swing during the day (lights on) until I get myself a trident back in 2019. I cranked that baby up to 12 tests a day, sometimes more via manual click, for the first week or so. I've used CalRX almost from the beginning. To counter the swings, I would dose (using Neptune DOS) at the time when the alk uptake is at the highest (usually between 6-9pm). I used EHV but switched to Fritz recently.. same thing I guess.. anyone else is using Fritz?
I only dose alk. Calcium level never really changed throughout the day.

I use triton because it’s easy to use in my opinion and raises ph (according to brs) more than most other 2 part. I really love the results even though it’s kinda pricey, but because of that I buy the bulk jugs that require no mixing and is the best price triton offers.

My tank is pretty full of acros, way more than I should have in 90 g of water . Even with the tank being packed every time I do ICP my trace elements are not to far off . I just make the minor adjustments.

I’ve used Tropic Marin All-for-reef now for about 2 years.

Works well in lower demand Nano tanks and love that I only need one dosing head. However I know it can be costly on larger systems. I spread my dosinf evenly through a 24hr period starting at 12 AM next dose at 6, 12PM, 6PM. Alk is always pretty stable assuming no human error.

Thinking of going to a Kalk stirrer, I had luck with Kalk in my RO on previous tanks. Like the multiples benefits Kalk can provide.
