Hey fellas and gals, it's been a while....
There doesn't seem to be much of a choice these days for the 250 HQI DE bulbs (not that there was much 20 years ago) I see the Phoenix 14k and the Hamilton 20k.

I'd like something a little bluer then the Phoenix. I've never used the Hamilton but I've read that it's not any better/bluer.

What do ya got for me?

I've never ran HQI DE lamps but I love my 14k mogul hamiltons. I feel they put out great color but might be a little white for some. Very natural light without being yellow is the best way I'd describe it. Fish look amazing as well as any true colored acro.

I almost went Ushio. Here is a link to Ushio USA. They still sell lamps direct but looks like you're limited to the 14k aqualite @ 250w DE

If those AB 14K DE are anything like the AB SE, you are going to want a lot of supplemental blue. I loved the AB SE 14k when I could get them.
