I was trying to hold off on starting this thread until I at least had the sump but I'm getting too excited and wanted to start it now!

My new tank is being built by Precision Aquariums and will be 80x36x24 peninsula style with internal coast to coast overflow. The 3 viewing sides will be starphire and it will have the mitered corners. They are also making the stand to go with it which will be around 40" tall.

Advanced Acrylic is making my sump (55x24x16) and another small tank(24x15x20) that will be used as a chaeto/frag/couple small fish for the kids tank.

Here are a few pics of the tank being built:

And here are some quick mockups I made of the sump and fuge

The #1 goal for this tank is to make things easier than my current tank. I am going to be pumping rodi and dosing alk/calc from the garage and also doing auto water changes every night also from the garage. This means less hassle than carrying heavy containers of rodi into the house and rigging up my water change hoses, so maintenance will be less of a chore. I alrady have two 55 gallon containers in the garage for my rodi/sw.

This is going to be sweet build. What's the bulkhead in the skimmer section used for?

It will be if I need to drain a lot of water to do a large water change. So it'll have a valve and union on it so I can connect my water change/drain hose to it if needed.

What are planning for lighting?
I am going to do primarily LPS/softies (are euphyllia considered softies?) so I am going to with those Ocean Revive T247 lights. I've read a lot of good stuff about them and got to see one in person at M3ace9 house.

Very Nice. I've heard good things about the lights.
