Hi Guys, I'm thinking about setting up a new tank.. I put together a savings list for this 36 gallon bowfront ensemble.

Looks like the cabinet can hold a sump, prob no bigger than about 20 gallons.

Heres the juicy part. (If it will all work as planned)

Save an Extra 10% when Choosing In-Store Pickup!

Comes out to be
174.99 - 10% = 157.09
157.09 - 30 = 127.09
144.99 - 5 = 122.99

Totaling 122.99 with Stand + 24" 17-Watt T8 Full Spectrum Fluorescent Lamp

What do you think?

I currently have a 55 G Acrylic tank in my garage with stand and 30g sump, but its' pretty beat up, Quoted $100 to polish (to new) by a reputable store. totaling about 200 after what I paid for + polishing. Should I downsize to 36 (Sell my spare tank) and start with this or fix and start my 55? I would no longer be in the Nano Reef category though D:

If you're on a budget, a 40 breeder is tough to beat. You can pick them up at the dollar per gallon sale, or maybe someone on here may have one they will let go for cheap. The light you were considering isn't gonna do much for you if you're thinking of having corals in the tank.

Fair enough,

I was thinking about the stand for it as well. I don't quite have a suitable area to place a 40g breeder. Do you know if the 40g breeder would work well with a single 165w LED? Or would it require 2?

You could get away with just one, just hang it a little higher so you get more spread.

Perfect!

I was thinking about $1 gallon sale, (which comes up after Christmas) and a DIY Metal rack stand from Lowes

What are your guys' thoughts? Should I move up my 20 long to a 40 breeder? Worth the headache, and noise for my room?
