how long was the water sitting? how much water?

if it feels soggy, then saltwater got to the backing and below, its MAJOR. you may need to pull all the carpet out and replace, for fear of rot and fungus.

It was like 30 gal the water was sitting for a few hours

yeah pull up the carpet, if possible put outside to dry and then replace carpet padding. Do you have a concrete slab or raised foundation? If concrete then water was probably sitting there longer than if it was raised foundation

Watch out for mildew. Get the carpet out. I do tile if interested. Also wood floors, and I know a good carpet guy. Sorry about ur situation. If u need a temporary talk lmk I have 2 I can let u borrow 30 or 90 gal.
