Hello everyone.
I just switched my lights since some of my coral seems to not be happy. MY zoas were atarting to stretch towards the light and since there is not much more room in my tank to put things up higher I have a couple od 400W MH laying around from a previous system. I was wondering how high the light should be from the water the tank is not a big tank but it is deep about 30" my highest coral is about 6" from the top and I have them all they way to the bottom. I just don't want to fry cook my corals right now it is about 14" from the water and the corals seem to like it but the light is super hot. NOt worried about water temps I had it on all day yesterday water was still 79 with no chiller. A big ac vent hits right on the tank and the AC is always on here.
I used to run 2 150W vipers 1 with a 10K bulb and 1 with a 14K hamilton.
I've got some Monti's, some DIgi's, some acro's and alot of Zoas from Captains americas, Darth, Mauls, Purple deaths alot!!!!
ANy suggestions would be appreciated. Maybe 1 400w is too much for a 50 gallon????:conf44:
