Sadly I have to finally part with this awesome 5 gallon Tank I set up in September 2008. The tank was purchased at PetCo and partitioned to keep the display area separate from the refugium. The refugium was then split into two halves, one half houses live rock and chateo and the other half houses the heater and the return pump.
I really dont want to sell this tank but I am going to be leaving for the Army in 3 months (Sept 14 is ship date) and sadly I cannot keep it. The current livestock includes an emerald crab, about a 6" x 3" rock covered in Green Star Polyp, a mushroom and a trumpet coral with about 6 heads. I used to have a Maroon Clown fish in the tank until it outgrew it which I traded in for a Yellow Goby. The goby decided to go exploring outside of the tank and commited suicide by jumping out of the tank one night. (RIP Tuna).
The tank is a really cool set up that I stole from another member over on nanotanks' forum. The entire refugium section is blacked out with Krylon spray paint along with the back partition wall. There is a Current Nova Extreme SLR T-5 Fixtures that puts out 36 watts of lighting along with a stealth heater. The return pump's propellors have recently been replaced so it is working perfectly with strong flow. The light fixture sits on top of a custom PVC stand that is also spray painted black and looks cleaner than you would think.
I am trying to sell the whole set up for $175 OBO.
