OK, so here is an update but its not much to look at. I had to take a picture of my tank for a coral grow out contest so I figured I might as well update the thread too since its been awhile now. I started a new tank at home, and I took a lot of coral out of this one to help fill it up. I've also been neglecting this tank ever since I set the new one up so I have some cyano and my coral don't have the color they used too. But I guess all the updates can't all be winners so here we go. My new tank is starting to get on cruise control so I plan on focusing attention back on this one and get it back on track.
I was cutting off some frags of my SWOR and noticed you can see a lot more of the different color when the polyps aren't out. It still doesn't have all that blue that you see online, but it is looking pretty nice
especially compared to what it looked like when I got it lol
Its actually been awhile, I've had it for prob 2 1/2 years...for the first 6 months it just recovered and encrusted, its really just been the last 6 months that branches have really been sprouting out at a good rate
Update time....so about a month ago, my office lost power over the weekend, I lost a couple pieces and everything else browned and paled out. I took a lot of my collector pieces home to my big tank and left this tank to recover. It was in a lull for awhile and I finally decided to take the opportunity to slightly upgrade and change a few things around. I now have a 60g cube 24 x 24 x 24 and a taller stand that is much higher quality. This time around I decided to put all the electronics on the outside of the stand because I just had too much sh*t crammed under the stand and it was a pain to work on. I added some more rock and I spread out the remaining corals in the tank. I'm going to go with fewer colonies and let them get much bigger this time. Here are a few pics of how it sits now. Its not much to look at, I'll post some higher quality pics once everything colors up
