I've been using abc reagents for 3 months now. The only issue I've had is with the calibration solution. The reagent is great and worth the savings.

I've talked with Jonas (owner) about the calibration solution. He stated that he has improved it. The issue was the calibration solution wasn't stabilized in the early batches. I've used tank water and put in the test values from my hanna testers to calibrate.
I havent actually setup my trident yet but sounds like you can manually override the calibration values testing with an external method to bypass the calibration solution issues, that’s a handy advantage

if I buy the reagents now I presume I should get a stable calibration solution

You SHOULD* get a good stable calibration solution. Some have reported the values listed on the bottle are not same as the values of the actual contents. I think this has been the only negative feed back with ABC Reagents, and I’ve heard they have or are addressing this issue. But the actual reagents have been great for all people I know using it and in all reviews I find.

if it was me- I would test the calibration fluid, and if it is a match (or within tolerances of test kit) I would use the numbers on the bottle. If it’s way off, use the results you got.

Personally the calibration fluid I got was accurate.

I've talked with Jonas from ABC reagents a couple of times, and he continues improving the reagents. He acknowledged that the calibration numbers drifted in the early batches. He has worked on providing a stable calibration solution. It's a significant saving and worth the money.

So just about finishing up my last order and I put in another order. I’m not having any with the product so I ordered the biggest supply they offer of reagents. I ordered the 4 gallon supply. 2 gallons of A, and 1 gallon each of B and C

I had no idea I could buy them that big! Thanks for sharing this.

I have been using them since this thread started and they work perfectly. Happy to buy in bulk with the second system almost up and running.

Got my reagent kit today. I didn’t realize it was a mix kit till I opened the box today. It looks to be pretty simple to mix up tho.

So I just finished mixing 1g of A, 1g of B, and 1g of C and it took me 26min. Made a video but need to edit it up.

Isnt there fear of the reagent degrading over time? I know these are acids and once exposed to air, they will begin to degrade (reason Neptune sells them in the sm containers)

I finally took the plunge to try this.

After calibration, (calibration fluid ALK 9.11) I'm not quite sure why it jumps back down to 6.5 immediately, with the sample still in the calibration fluid.

It's been 3 hours since i've been trying to figure this out.

After calibration, i also tried doing just an alk test (on the calibration fluid), and it reads 6.5. I'm assuming it should read 9.11 since the fluid is 9.11.

note: i am on my 2nd bottle of calibration fluid (ordered the big pack)

Hopefully somebody can chime in!

Reached out to Jonas via customer support on the website.

Customer service is A+!

It’s almost midnight in his area and he is helping me troubleshoot.

I wouldn't trust the calibration fluid. I've always had issues with it. Jonas is a great guy.
