This is the lone survivor from my first batch of nearly 40! I'm told that the first 2-3 clutches are not usually successful.. So hoping the batch set to hatch this weekend will be a lot heartier to begin with .. Feeding him Rotifers I'm culturing and now adding TDO A1 dry food..

He will need to pass meta to count him as a surviver (10-14 days) depends on temp and how you know he pass because he will get the first band on he's head good gob :)

Also, the lone survivor is a hermaphodite now, so perhaps the name Jaime Lee? While the movie Finding Nemo was great, it was wrong about what really happens in the wild. I know, yall knew this already...

I thought you weren't going to try to raise your spawn?

Anyway Ivan said it true...my first batch is 17 days old and are developing the band on their heads first.

I'm doing something wrong maybe though because they are almost a week late for the metamorphosis.

Capricious That's exciting ! :) have u had a good survival rate ? Newly breeding clowns or established breeders?
I was planning on avoiding all the prep/ work that rearing involves.. But , like most things I decide are outside of my wheelhouse, I came around to a' let's just SEE how hard it really is' attitude .. So here I am. Lol
This batch I collected and THEN scrambled around setting them up and acquiring cultures etc.. It was a bit of s last minute whim. But now I'm invested.. So hopefully the next batch will show my efforts aren't wasted ;)

Can I ask your fry setup/feeding details? I'm learning a lot online, but enjoy hearing others experiences.. :)
