The 99 cent store on Springdale St. in H.B. has tongs 36" long. They're not the little plastic 24" ones they usually have at all of them I've seen. These are in the tool/auto area. They are made of a painted metal with plastic handle and clamps. Not sure of mechanism inside, but the clamp end with a little finishing closes pretty nice and tight..

the mechanism is the only thing metal on it after you use them you just have to remember to wipe it dry to prevent rust. They have a great grip and easy to release about as good as the expensive ones (IMO).

+1 fran's experience. I cleaned with fresh H2O and they still rust quick but are great for reaquascaping etc.

you have to be careful with these... usually they put grease, you don't want that in your reef

i'd rather spend the extra $5 to get a reef safe one :D
