Two and a half weeks ago I ordered some great livestock from www.trieu-exotics.com. It still hasnt arrived and the phone number does not exist, emails go unreplied, sometimes even bounce back. I have opened a case via Paypal to try and get the $205 back from them.

This shop sucks....:motz:

did you pay with your credit card? if so, call your credit card company. paypal will only reimburse you a little more than half if they rule in your favor. i got taken once before with paypal. now i pay with my credit card all the time when using paypal. it's easier to put in a claim to get all your money back.

Agree, I run a merchant account with Paypal and can tell you that credit card reversals are more effective. When you file through your CC company they submit a reversal immediately, which forces Paypal to take action. Taking action through Paypal instead only opens a dialog between buyer and seller that can run on long enough for the shady seller to empty their account.

Despite already having a case open with Paypal, I would call your CC and tell them you got scammed.

Although you can "enter to win" if you use your checking account for PP transactions, you have far more protection if you use a credit card (even a debit card with a Visa/MC logo!).

Disputing with your CC company is a pain, but it's FAR less complicated than trying to deal with the he77 I hear PP can be when it comes to disputes... Like Ken said, the conversation between buyer/seller/PP can go on forever, even longer than your period within which to file a dispute with your CC company (seen it happen!).

Um... DID you use a credit card?

*crosses fingers*

Unfortunately no, I used my Debit card and have yet to find out if I have payment protection. Off to the bank in the AM to find out where I stand. I am so pissed, they had some great stuff too....

Its just unproffessional, no contact whatsoever and phone numbers that dont exist. I got my money back in the end but had to file a claim thru the bank. He's lost a good customer and hopefully many more will take my advice and boycott idiots like him. Support your LFS and reputable online dealers!!
