Hi my name is Rigo and im an alc...sorry, ehem, ive been in the hobby for two years now. ill post pics below this of my current tanks (im writing this on my work pc). what got me into this hobby was beer. i was sitting in my living room, drunk. then i look at my girlfriend and tell her i want a fish tank. fast forward about 1 hour and i had a 75 gallon fish tank in my car making my way back home. set that up as freshwater and then got another 100 gallon a month later and set that up as my first salt water tank.

My Tank Build
#4
Hi, I'm Joe. I started the hobby in Oct 2021 with an Evo 13.5g tank and a pair of clowns for my son's 4th birthday (which became my tank). Here it is currently:

In Jan 2022 I got an office tank, IM Nuvo Fusion 10g, with Tampa Bay Saltwater rock and sand. That tank was wonderful and had an exquisite firefish and a tailspot blenny. Absolutely packed that tank. Here is the last picture before it got transferred:

Now I am mid-transfer and setup on a new office tank, an IM Nuvo 40L (40 gallon, long), which houses the entire contents of the 10g already, and some of the Evo is beginning to transfer over.

This tank is set up for office life. I added a mini fridge with dosing pump that pumps in Reef Nutrition food 4x per day and a stand on top with an Eheim autofeeder dropping small TDO pellets 3x per day. IM TI Hydrofill ATO, Helio heater, dosing AFR 4x/day, will have 3 Noopsyche K7 minis over it once everything is transferred (currently 1 K7 mini and 1 Prime 16HD). There are several failsafes set up, including a galvanized steel pan underneath that can catch almost 4 gallons of water in case of an ATO overflow. Currently a blue star leopard wrasse, yasha goby and court jester goby in QT to go with the blenny and firefish.

I like nems, inverts, zoas, meat corals and Euphyllia. Starting to gain an appreciation for fuzzy sticks, but don't have any acros yet--closest is a goldenrod anacropora.

My favorite coral/nem by far are my rainbow and black widow BTAs.

I like trading and getting corals from local reefers the most. I've often bought from AquaSD, but haven't been interested in a while. I also like Cultivated Reef. Macros are a big part of my tanks. And I like to give away stuff when I can!

I use a lot of zip ties.
