Hi everyone
So I'm pretty new to saltwater tank and want to get everyones opinion on my tank. I bought the tank on Craig's list and added a couple things.

The set up...
50 gal all in one tank
50lb live sand
About 65lb live rock
425gph power head
750gph power head
120w led light
Remora aquaC protine skimmer with a maxi-jet1200 pump
Seaside aquatics GFO with a Ph402 pump
Current 1/3 chiller with a rio 1100 pump

Currently the tank is runnining at about 78, alc is at about 160, sal is at about 1.025, nitrates about 30, nitrites at 0. Ph 7.8. Originally the alc was extremely low, like 118, so i got that raised up. My nitrates were high at 80. Im still trying to drop the nitrates but its taking some time.
Living in the tank are two clowns, a starfi, a peppermint shrimp and a small patch of gsp.

A few issues/questions i have would be... hows well is my tank set up? What can i do about all the alge? Any other advice you guys have?

Hi Anthony, just read up about cycling a tank and the nitrogen cycle. That's the first step. How long has the tank been set up?

Hey Anthony! Welcome to the forum. Even when a tank is already established, moving any tank can cause a cycle. If your nitrates are high do a water change and feed less. Make sure you are doing water changes with 0tds water or buying from a trustworthy LFS

Try getting active carbon and a reactor safes time and easy to clean and trash. Make sure you quarantine your new fish. it's a pain to get a fish that introduces diseases and parasites I'm combating ich at the moment. Prevention is key. High nitrate is probably due to a new mini cycling due to moving the tank keep water changes and it should stabilize. Good luck this forum is pretty active and helpful. Welcome!!!
