I know that the words “bacterial infection” get tossed around a lot, but I’m thinking that one of my acans has an infection. Over the course of several months, this acan has been deflated and slowly receding. I don’t believe that light, flow or water quality are the issue because this acan is located right in the middle of my acan garden where all the surrounding acans are happy and puffy. My question is, do you think that this acan would benefit from any type of dip? I have lugols iodine but I’m not sure the ratio/duration

I use lugols for all unhappy lps; dose into a container of DT water until it’s a light tea color and dip coral for 10 minutes.

I use around 4-5 drops in 16 ounces. Has worked well for acans, blastos, and chalices that weren't puffing up like usual; they generally start to turn around a day or two after I dip them.

I’ve used an overnight bath of cipro/Amoxicillin/chemiclean and had nothing but great results on acans.

Melafix dip works great. Sorry I don't know the ratio, I eyeball it. But I would guess, 1 capful per half gallon of tank water. Mix in dipping container. Treat it like a dip, use a circulation pump or turkey baster.
