I read some raving reviews on another forum regarding acropower. The observations posted are so positive as to make you ponder.

Reef builders has done multiple incredibly positive reviews on it, and the adjectives are all superlative, http://reefbuilders.com/2013/12/05/acropower-review/. In addition, they named it their number one product of 2013. That is pretty impressive. I don't know enough about reef builders to know how impartial they are or are not. But you should read the reviews and see their take on it.

I started using it a few weeks ago and then left for a 10 day trip last week. So I really can't comment on any dramatic effects or not. I tend to be skeptical so I find it hard to accept that anyone can see color, growth, and polyp extension improvement in a short time, but who knows maybe I am just too skeptical.

But then again the reviews have been reported as nothing less than stellar. I have never dosed amino acids previously but I have to admit with all the reviews and reefers positive observations/hype, I decided to try it and I'll share my observations as well

Anyone else try it and what do you think so far?

I just started it too cause of all the great things I heard only been using it for 2wks but at half of recommended dose starting it slow and going up to full amount. So still too early to say.

ill share my observations after a while of using it at full dose.

listening.

I got Korallin Amino-Life http://www.marinedepot.com/Korallin..._Supplements-Korallin-KL5131-FIADTECS-vi.html instead of AcroPower -- i think simply b/c i liked the description better.

In any case, just curious as i may try AcroPower after i run out of the Amino-Life. It's only been like 3 weeks of dosing for me so still too early to tell if the one i got works (no noticeable improvement thus far).

I have usually used seachem reef plus, bright well amino acids, or something similar. I will say this stuff sold out fast and I just started using it myself. I am not sure I will see much of a difference since I always done aminos.

I have been using Acropower for about a month now, during that time I have bought three sps corals that were brown. Two of them have alredy colored up and the third one is coming around nicely. I'm not sure if its all due to Acropower but it sure seems to help.

A couple things to share

1). My alk dropped with this product so you will need to watch your parameters. I don't test calcium as regularly as I do alk, so I'll check calcium levels when I get back home soon

2). It seems that most suggest feeding amino acids during daytime with lights on because that is supposedly when corals absorb amino acids. I can't imagine why it's not with dark time when polyps are maximally open but I am far from an expert on sps. I think this came from one of Scott Feldman's editorials on another forum. I guess I should have pmd him about it. Seems those dosing acropower picked up his comments and now it is repeated constantly. Anybody know Scott well enough to ask him

Is it a coincidence?? Yesterday I dosed AP in my frag tank, and this morning I'm seeing polyp extension out of my Vivids rainbow delight acro. Been in my tank for a couple weeks, and today is the first time I'm seeing it's polyps.

I have been using acropower for about a week and I can say my chalices are looking better and my polyp extension on my acros have improved as well. It seems to be working to me. My brother has been using AP for over a month and he has been getting great results. I would recommend it.

very good point , if you weren't using Amino acids before it my not just be the product but more that you are now dosing amino acids

I was dosing Elos amino acids, and this product made a noticeable difference. Polyps are out on a lot of my pickier acros. Hadn't been out for a few months due to slight fluctuations in my frag tank. (Or at least that's what I'm blaming it on)

I started dosing 3ml daily on Sunday and will ramp it up to the full dose of 7ml for my tank over the next few weeks. The only observation I've made is that my ph has risen. Normally it's 8.1-8.2 now it's 8.19-8.25 and has been this way for the past 3 days. Nothing else has changed. My polyp extension has already been pretty good but I do have a few pieces that are definitely extending more. I dose during the day per Diesel's link to the other thread.

I've been dosing this now for a few weeks daily and I must say its made a very noticeable difference. Everything has really responded very well and my pe is so much better. I'm starting to see richer colors. Now I had not dosed aminos before so it could be that but so far I'm sold on it and will continue to dose.

I started then stopped--no special reason. Gonna start up again. Although I am impressed with the number of accolades this product receives, I still wonder? Wish there was some objective way to truly evaluate or quantify any effect it may have whether it be improved polyp extension, color or growth

so, i've been doing daily manual dosing.. and had some really crazy polyp extensions.

i thought it was from the AP alone, but I just realized over the weekend, that there were a few things going on in my tank
  1. snail spawned - i have hundreds of tiny snails all over my liverock
  2. firefish died - i honestly have no idea when that happened, but within the last 10 days
  3. pretty major algae bloom - cloudied up the whole tank

since all that, and the system re-balancing itself, the PE isn't as crazy as before, i'd simply classify it as "good" now.

Careful. Algae bloom could be caused by dosing too much AP. If your tank isn't a low nutrient tank, AP can have a negative affect.
