Well, finally started to get my new cube looking good and now this...

Woke Up this morning excited to mount my new corals I picked up off a fellow reefer, and I got a jumpstart to my day! By jump start I mean I got a nice shock when I put my hand in the water!! I traced it back to my cobalt Neotherm Heater, so I ditched it.

Moving forward, I started examining the frags for fun, and it quickly turned into disappointment. AEFW! Yup, they are infested with them, and now in my tank...IT IS TOTALLY MY BAD FOR JUST THROWING THEM IN MY TANK BECAUSE IT WAS LATE. Just looking for a confirmation here... I see bite marks, AEFWs, and stressed out bases of the frags, all signs that are indicative of an infestation.

Moving forward, I am going to have to dip all Acros for weeks. Any ideas of what I should use or a plan of attack? Bayer is what i use to use in the past. Let me know what you guys think? BTW, I won't disclose the seller because I don't feel that it is right, although I did notify him.

THANKS!

In the first pic, do they have a hard shell? To me, it looks like sand skater-good cleaning crew-algae eater. Also aefw don't hangout under the plug.

The more I discuss this and look closer, the more I think I have misidentified. I am going to get some better photos of the corals and pests.

I believe the first hard shell one is a limpet, others might be flatworms. Cant really tell if those are bites on the coral or just stressed, but do a light dip, see if anything comes off. Easily done in turn to not knowing and worrying.

First pic shows some kind of flatworm. Aefw are more brown in color. Other pics are hard to be definitive. I don't see clear bite marks on the last pic. You MIGHT be ok. But if the seller has aefw, then you are screwed.

Need some better pics. The eggs are really small, helps if you hold the plug up to the light of your fixture. They are reddish brown colored.

AEFW are sort of a mottled brownish tan brown color.

That suck man. But considering you still lucky since your tank just started.
I haven't had any experience dealing with aefw before, but in some of your pictures I see they are on the plug. The behavior look more like normal (red) flatworms than aefw.
Try to dip them, if they are normal flatworms, I pretty sure they will come off easily . Careful inspect the frags for the next couple weeks to see any clear bite marks.
